What the Gyneos® study found
This peer-reviewed study, published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, investigated the effects of Gyneos®, Advenion Nutrition’s standardized D-chiro-inositol ingredient, on female reproductive health across key life stages, using aged mice and two mouse models relevant to women’s hormonal and metabolic balance. The research reported that chronic supplementation with Gyneos® was associated with improved markers of oocyte quality, embryo development, and implantation in these models, including in the context of ovarian aging.
Mechanistically, Gyneos® was associated with fewer cyst-like follicles, enhanced corpus luteum development, and modulation of genes involved in oocyte competence (Gdf9), oxidative-stress control (Sirt3, Sod2), glucose transport (Slc2a4), steroidogenesis (Akr1c3), and inflammatory signaling. In metabolically challenged models, Gyneos® supported healthy insulin signaling through the AKT pathway and improved glucose tolerance without altering body weight.
These results provide mechanistic evidence that Gyneos® — a standardized, traceable source of D-chiro-inositol — supports reproductive wellness and healthy hormonal and metabolic balance across female life stages. By evaluating the specific Gyneos® ingredient rather than generic D-chiro-inositol, the study underscores the value of standardization and analytical control, positioning Gyneos® for women’s reproductive and metabolic wellness from early adulthood through advanced maternal age.
The research described above was conducted in preclinical (animal) models and is intended for scientific and product-development audiences. Gyneos® is an ingredient and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, including polycystic ovary syndrome.
