What the Gyneos® women’s brain health study found

This peer-reviewed study, published in Nutrients, investigated the effects of Gyneos®, Advenion Nutrition’s standardized D-chiro-inositol ingredient, in female preclinical models relevant to cognitive aging, addressing the growing recognition of sex-specific mechanisms in brain health. The research reported that chronic administration of Gyneos® was associated with better cognitive performance alongside support for brain insulin signaling through the PI3K/Akt pathway.

The study further reported that Gyneos® supported balanced tau-related signaling and was associated with lower inflammation-related and oxidative-stress markers. By acting on brain metabolism in female models, this work reinforces the concept that healthy insulin signaling is an important factor in cognitive aging in women.

These findings position Gyneos® — a standardized, traceable source of D-chiro-inositol — as a metabolic–hormonal modulator with specific relevance for female cognitive aging, supporting a sex-specific ingredient approach that integrates metabolic health and brain function. By evaluating the specific Gyneos® ingredient rather than generic D-chiro-inositol, the study reinforces the value of standardization and analytical control.

The research described above was conducted in preclinical (animal) models and is intended for scientific and product-development audiences. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Gyneos® is an ingredient and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, including Alzheimer’s disease.
